Our Story
When my daughter was little, she was vibrant, creative, intelligent, and joyful. She was a digital self-starter, teaching herself coding and design. As social media like Facebook, Instagram, and Formspring became a part of her life, she lost her joy. She suffered horrific online bullying and social isolation. She became anxious and depressed. It took tremendous courage and resilience for her to heal over time. We now know her story is far too common. It reflects a troubling trend with more and more youth suffering from tech addiction, mental illness, and online dangers.
At Generation Remix, we believe we can reverse this trend by activating and supporting young leaders at the heart of the problem. Digital natives like my daughter, who have grown up facing these challenges, can help build a more joyful future.
